by Mario Mesquita BorgesCrafting genuine alternative country rock compositions, flowing amid inspirational marks of traditional folk-rock style and stirring pieces of pop/rock, Evangeline present passionate themes, enlightened by poignant lyrics and heartfelt melodies. Chris Cline, formerly a member of the Cheap Ones, decided to found Evangeline in Seattle in 1998, and was later joined by vocalist Jennifer Potter. Joining the band later on were Kevin Suggs (pedal steel/guitar), Scott Summers (bass), and Kevin Warner (drums). Evangeline then started playing at numerous musical events across a multitude of locations, eventually deciding to record their debut album in 2000. Suggs, whose credits included works with bands like the Walkabouts, Ramona, and singer Heather Duby, secured the production for Evangeline's debut album. Felt Like Home, the group's first full-length disc, hit record stores in 2001, achieving surprising results and attaining considerable praise from the media.
