Born and raised in New York City, singer/songwriter Ben Green began playing piano at the age of three and was writing songs before he was in his teens. While attending Skidmore College, he started to frequent folk clubs, honing his skills which led to several years of peddling demos and performing after he graduated. In 1990, Green signed a publishing deal with EMI as well as an artist deal with SBK Records. However, SBK folded shortly afterward without Green having released a record. His tenure with the label would, though, find him meeting labelmate Francesca Beghe, whom he would marry. He continued to earn songwriting credits on albums by Warren Hill and Shirley Murdock. His first release as an artist came with the 2002 release of a self-titled album which boasted an array of veteran players including Knox Chandler and "T-Bone" Wolk and his version of the song "Names on a Wall," a song written and appearing on Beghe's 1989 SBK release. A winning slice of adult-oriented pop, Ben Green spun off the adult radio hit "Two to One." ~ Tom Demalon, All Music Guide
