Industrial sounds are mixed with dance rhythms by Toronto-based Digital Poodle. Initially featuring the electronic programming of Pupka and Reduct, the group has experienced numerous personnel changes. Their 1997 album, Combat, included only one original members — vocalist Mouth 392.
Formed in 1987, Digital Poodle released their first six albums — Pay Attention, Poodle Crematorium, Snivel, Live Death and Baltic Work Force — on their own Shadow label. They continued to record for the label after it was renamed, DOVentertainment (Death of Vinyl), in 1991. Their first album for the renamed label, Soul Crush, was followed by Work Terminal, which includes re-mixes of songs from Soul Crush and three new tunes.
Although they took a two year hiatus, Digital Poodle resurfaced with an EP, Elektronik Espionage, featuring new material. The release marked the beginning of a new era for the band. Signing with California-based label, Cleopatra, they released Division! in 1994. An album featuring early recordings, remixes and previously unavailable tracks, Noises: 1987-1994, followed a year later. Returning to the studio, they released Combat in 1997.
