by Dale NichollsWe Ragazzi buzzed into Chicago's crowded indie-rock territory in late 1997, spicing up the scene with their brash mix of bluesy garage rock, and sassy new wave. Soon after their formation, members Anthony Rolando (guitar, vocals), Colleen Burke (Farfisa), and Alianna Kalaba (drums), self-released a single in the spring of 1998 and began playing Chicago and the surrounding Great Lakes area. Their growing reputation as an energetic live act spread by word of mouth, and eventually led to their signing with Chicago's indie My Pal God record label who featured their song "In December" on The My Pal God Holiday Record compilation. We Ragazzi's first CD, Suicide Sound System was released in the spring of 1999. By the end of the summer, the band took to the road, touring throughout the Midwest and east coast. The next few years resulted in much writing and performing, but little recording. They finally stepped into a studio in the spring of 2002 and put together Ache.
