The Ancients are a left field rock band mining the glaciers of songwriter Jonathan Michell’s musical inner space where glorious top 40 heroes from childhood are preserved next to hobbled but inspired soul wanderers. Apocalyptic anxiety, futile landscapes of capitalism, the want of peace and meaningful human relationships guide his pen. Having released albums on Moteer (UK) and Australian labels Sensory Projects and Chapter Records The Ancients are currently putting the finishing touches on an as yet to be titled new album to be released in 2017. This will be the first album to feature Sophie Perillo (keyboard / vocals) and Hamish O’Neill (guitar / keyboard) with long time collaborators Georgina Ward (bass) and Julian Patterson (drums) back on board.
