Molly’s silvery voice and lush, elegant vocal style evoke the big band singers of the 1930s and breathe new life into familiar old standards. Originally from Roseville, CA, she made her singing debut at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee with the Reynolds Brothers’ Rhythm Rascals when she was eleven. Since moving to New York City in August of 2003, Molly has appeared with such prominent jazz artists as Randy Reinhart, Howard Alden, Jon-Erik Kellso, Kevin Dorn, Mark Shane and Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks. Most recently, thanks to (Musical Advisor for the show) Vince Giordano, Molly can be heard on the soundtrack for the new HBO television series “Boardwalk Empire.” Molly has also had her vocals featured on the Investigation Discovery Channel. . In 2009 the Loup-Garous Label came out with a new CD by Dan Levinson's Swing Wing entitled "At the Codfish Ball," featuring Molly Ryan. . In 2008 Molly recorded her second CD "Songbird in the Moonlight." This CD was released on the Loup-Garous Label and features a stellar band and liner notes by Will Friedwald, Harvey Barkan, and Molly. Later in that year, Molly led the Molly Ryan Quartette at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. In April of 2007 Molly performed a tribute to the late, great vocalist, Anita O'Day in Bridgewater, NJ. Later in 2007 Molly recorded three tracks on Dan Levinson's recording "Steppin’ Around," with the Canary Cottage Dance Orchestra. Molly has appeared at the Hot Steamed Jazz Festival in Essex, Connecticut with Kevin Dorn's Traditional Jazz Collective, the Canary Cottage Dance Orchestra, the Palomar Quartette (a band Molly has been apart of since it's creation in 2004), and the James Langton Big Band. She has made appearances at the Orange County Classic Jazz Festival with the Eleven Sons of Rosy (a trbute band to the late Rosy McHargue), and the Canary Cottage Dance Orchestra. Molly has performed at the Los Angeles Sweet and Hot Festival since 2003. She has also performed regularly with the Stan Rubin Orchestra at the Carnegie Club in Manhattan and performed Benny Goodman's Carnegie Hall Concert at the famed Supper Club as well as to a sell-out audience in Bridgewater New Jersey. Molly can be seen and heard once a year in July, in Eagles Mere, PA with Derf Nolde's Keystone Jazz Group . After moving to New York City in August of 2003, she began singing regularly at Terra Blues in Greenwich Village until 2006 and in June of 2004, she performed in the JVC Jazz Festival’s centennial tribute to Jimmy Dorsey at Birdland in New York City, with the Stan Rubin Orchestra. Also, during the summer of 2004, Molly was a member of Kevin Dorn's Traditional Jazz Collective. In May of 2002 Molly recorded her debut CD, “Dream a Little Dream,” featuring Bob Ringwald on piano and Dan Levinson on clarinet and saxophone.
