The Static Jacks are an American indie rock band from Westfield, New Jersey, consisting of singer Ian Devaney, guitarist Henry Kaye, guitarist Michael Sue-Poi, and drummer Nick Brennan. They started out under the name "Waterdown Clockwise," changing their name to the Static Jacks in 2007.
The Static Jacks were signed by Fearless Records in 2011 and their debut album If You're Young was released August 30, 2011 (US) and March 5, 2012 (UK/EU).
Music blog "Pop Tarts Suck Toasted" included The Static Jacks in their "Best Newish New Jersey Bands" feature of the Top 10 Jersey Bands Ever in 2009. The band was named Breakthrough Artist of the Day by NME on July 23, 2010. NME describe the band as having "the typhoon energy of early Cribs with the heart-on-sleeve angst of early Get Up Kids."
The band has played with The Wombats, Young the Giant, Biffy Clyro, The Futureheads, Titus Andronicus, Tokyo Police Club, and more.
On July 25, 2011, the Jack's premiered a double single online consisting of Into The Sun and Mercy, Hallelujah.
Starting October 21, 2011 in Washington DC, the band will embark on a full US tour supporting The Wombats.
On November 17, 2011, The Static Jacks made their television debut on Fuel TV's The Daily Habit.
On December 21, 2011 The Static Jacks appeared on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly.
In February of 2012, The Static Jacks supported The Wombats with their 3 sold out shows in the UK. The highlight being Brixton Academy.
On April 16, a new song called "Young Guns" was streamed and offered for a free download. The song is off of their EP Spray Tan. On April 17, their song "Ink" from their debut album If You're Young was featured on MTV's 16 & Pregnant.
