Flica

Flica（Euseng Seto 司徒毅誠(chéng)）從 2007 年開(kāi)始音樂(lè)創(chuàng)作，早期多以原音素材和電子音效混搭，作品以?xún)?yōu)美動(dòng)聽(tīng)的旋律見(jiàn)稱(chēng)。首張專(zhuān)輯《Windwane ＆ Window》在2007年于馬來(lái)西亞獨(dú)立音樂(lè)廠牌 mü-nest 廠牌發(fā)行，推出后馬上收到國(guó)內(nèi)外樂(lè)評(píng)人和樂(lè)迷們的一致好評(píng)。繼后，他也在廠牌的專(zhuān)場(chǎng)演出安排下，到日本和歐洲等地巡演，引來(lái)不少注目。也因?yàn)閷?zhuān)輯在日本得到了熱烈反響，F(xiàn)lica過(guò)后也在東京獨(dú)立廠牌Schole旗下發(fā)表了不少作品。

近年來(lái)，越漸成熟的 Flica 開(kāi)始潛入更黑暗，更情緒化的電子氛圍樂(lè)。其作品因此更加專(zhuān)注于聲音設(shè)計(jì)與結(jié)構(gòu)，把打造出來(lái)的音樂(lè)細(xì)心地推向另一更深的層次。

Flica 本身是一名全職設(shè)計(jì)師，視覺(jué)與聽(tīng)覺(jué)并重。因此看過(guò)他的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)演出的樂(lè)迷們，都知道他喜歡把視覺(jué)元素納入現(xiàn)場(chǎng)的表演，實(shí)踐聲音和視覺(jué)同步合體。

Euseng Seto, as Flica, began in 2007. In his embryonic form, Flica dabbled in a mishmash of the acoustic and the electronic, composing easy listening melody tunes for debut album Windwane & Window, released by mü-nest label. The release received an overwhelming response from Japan, which resulted in Flica’s sophomore, Nocturnal, being released under Tokyo-based indie label Schole. It was during the transitional period between his sophomore and third album that Flica started delving into a darker and emotional ambient sound.

The resulting release, Telepathy Dreams, was a decidedly different approach to music making than the previous album. More focused on sound design-based compositions, the album was the maturity point of Flica. This was also when he met and collaborated with visual artist Fairuz Sulaiman. Flica, being a designer by trade, an audiovisual person himself, was inspired to incorporate more visual elements to his live set – creating a sensory synchronisation in sound and sight.

In his current incarnation, Flica is a combination of ambient electronica by way of oriental mood, or as he put it himself; “an Asian sound with experimental element”. In 2021, Flica returned to mü-nest label - his 3rd release under the label, with an EP entitled "Betwixt".

小flica is an electro-acoustic outfit produced by euseng seto from the evolving music scene of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Born in 1982, he begun his exquisite journey in conceptualizing and producing delicate home-brew music since 2005 with his first electronica duo project muxu with member huat liang.

Having realized the need to explore further and experiment with his own music style, euseng seto started flica in early 2007, solely crafting and producing music on his own. As a result, the subtle sounds that flica creates are exceptionally melodic and uncomplicated, which perfectly mirroring his perceptions towards daily personal feelings on life and nature.

flica’s beautiful debut album windvane and window was proudly released by mü-nest in January 2008.
